Spring wardrobe budget kind of tight?

Well here's some suggestions on how to stretch the  lifespan of your currently existing wardrobe until things start looking up ;)

Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize! One of the quickest & convenient ways to spice up any outfit and make it look new.
  • Scarves (whether long or square, printed or textured, you name it, they are hot & all over the market!)
  • Jewelry/Statement Pieces (Whether it be a necklace, bangle or cocktail ring- It should be big & bold! Choose from exotic beading, ethnic chunky gems & stones, Geometric & innovative shapes)
Investment pieces - Whether you're the type of person that prefers timeless pieces over trend fast styles, or if you're more fashion-forward and must have the super trendy latest items.. Choose your 1 or 2 investment pieces that are a bit more classic & will last throughout the entire season & even transition into the next!
  • The Blazer - A nice slim fit blazer is as much as a wardrobe-must have as the LBD (little black dress)
  • The Jean - For me personally, I'm a denim girl & prefer a premium denim. I HAVE TO have a great pair of jeans. It's a confidence booster and one of the most pervasive pieces for your wardrobe!
Take Inventory of your closet - Chances are there's probably items in there that you can bring back & reinvent (or something that a quick trip to the tailor can fix)! As you know fashion is cyclical!

For my FOXy friend from Maine :)

A special post request for cute spring sneaks!
Well kids, I must admit I've digressed from my love for sneakers over the past few years (since work attire is more of a priority) but here's some of my suggestions for some cute ways to sport comfortable kicks yet still look cute & stylish.

Top 3 picks & personal favorites:
Converse
Puma
Keds

I'm posting a few suggestions on what I've seen so far for this season.
For the pink lovers out there ;) you know who you are
I own these in light grey & lime from last year :) Super comfy!
New Balance collaboration w/ Nine West. Loving this jersey sneaker! I totally want a pair in the all grey!

Keds slip ons - so easy w/ any outfit
More converse :)

And then when in doubt, if you're still not satisfied, design your own! Keds has a cool feature on their site where you can create your own!

Wall art

I'm so excited that I finished my new project this weekend!
It's my new wall art/jewelry display for my bedroom.
I just took an old wooden frame, some cool fabric & foam core board, and voila! A cute way of displaying your earrings, etc. As sometimes you forget what you have when they're stuffed in drawers or boxes :)
My next step is to hang up this branch hook I purchased at Urban Outfitters to hang up any long necklaces or cool scarves!

Tie Dye dude..

So if you weren't already sick of hearing how much of the 80's are coming back, well.. here's another little tit for tat. TIE DYE!
I'm justifying this trend when used subtly, in a more feminine way, as opposed to very junior looks reminiscent of your childhood summer camp days. hehe
Today was a pretty gloomy day so I wanted to infuse a little tie dye into my casual outfit. I'm absolutely loving w/ my new tie dye scarf! (from F21) Scarves are such an easy accessory to dress up any outfit.  Whatcha think?
See below for some ways of doing tie dye w/o over doing it.

Black out

After my post on electric blue I realized that my all black outfit today could have used a little pizzazz w/ some electric blue shoes!  Ah well.. I'll just add that to the list.
But I was excited about wearing my new top (a recent H&M purchase) that had sort of a vintage-y vibe.
What'ya think?

you can sneak a peek at my yellow wall :)
hey there's my plant! & part of my wall tapestry :P
finally got the perfect black flat boots this winter, after searching for yrs!

COLOR ALERT: ELECTRIC BLUE!

I know many may associate this color with a bad part of the '80's, but guess what kids!? It's making a comeback.

I'm really loving this electrifying blue color in accessories and apparel. It's such a bold & bright hue that looks good on just about all skin tones.

See below for some examples of how you can rock this trend too.
p.s. - of course I'm loving the shoes in this hue :)

Holla 'atcha boy

Thought it would be fun to post a few street style shots featuring some of those fashion forward gents out there! (in Europe of course)
I love the way these are captured~ (photos courtesy of The Sartorialist)

This guy is pimping it!

Loving the layers & crispness (he's more well put together than most women I know!)
More of an action shot.. but what intrigued me was the pinning of the blazer. I'm not sure if I know any men that would do that..
